Question by : Interior light / power door lock problem – 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country?
None of my power locks work nor do the interior lights come on. I have checked the bulbs and they are fine. I have gone through the fuses under the dash and in the engine compartment and all are fine. I have not checked the relays under the dash yet as I do not know how to test them. When the buttons are tried on the locks, the is no sound to indicate any effort on the part of the solenoid. I can manually lock them but the buttons are really stiff and hard to move. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Scott
None of the door switches work.

Answer by Ashlee Is this from both sides of the jeep? If you can lock them with the passenger side switch then it is not a relay but the switch itself. Most relay’s in the jeep are interchangeable, at least some are on my Grand Cherokee.
Question by dominicanmarine163: How can I get the alternator/solenoid on my car checked out?
I own a 1994 toyota supra. The battery keeps dying on it and I’ve asked about it on yahoo answers and so far people keep telling me that it could be my alternator or solenoid. How can I get these two checked out?

Question by Kaitlyn: Why are all the indicator lights in my dashboard glowing?
I drive a 1987 Volvo station wagon. A couple days ago maybe, I noticed the dashboard lights getting dimmer as I drove, and the indicator lights started to glow a little bit as I cruised. When I accelerated again, they went back out. Tonight, they are glowing stronger and they stopped going out with the acceleration. Is this battery or alternator?

Answer by tysdad62271 Your alternator is bad, be sure to charge your battery and have it tested as well.
Question by deazzling: What size bolts are on a 1989 Honda Accord Lxi’s alternator?
I need replacement bolts for my alternator. The long bottom bolt and the top bolt that holds the tensioner. I need to know the size of these bolts.
Best answer:
Answer by skidmark_84 Don’t you have the old ones? Just check the size.
If you lost the old bolts and need new ones, it really doesn’t matter. Whatever bolts will fit in the holes and hold the thing in will work.
Question by Arlene M: info needed for a FORD explorer (2005) shows code 0796?
a solenoid transmission pack? how much is that? all other tests came back normal no other codes listed, just this one 0796. thanks

Answer by Eric F the link http://highlanderclub.ru/files/manual/04/21acxt2c/cip0796.pdf
gives a good description of what your problem is.
As much as I don’t like going to a shop, this code.. requires you to goto a shop, a transmission shop would be best.
I’ll bet the valve body is plugged up with gook..
There are additives you can try to use to free the valve body and solenoids up, I honestly can not recommend you try them, however I would on my own vehicle.

the flywheel and stater are both new 9th starter 3rd flywheeel
a direct drive starter can not be shimmed. their is no way to add a bolt hole or ajust the starter it only bots on one way with two bolts. it is the worst design ever built

Question by : How long will my car battery last fully charged without a working alternator?
The car battery was bought this year and is confirmed good. I was thinking of just buying a battery charger and just charging it everyday at my house and just drive short distances INSTEAD of buying a new alternator. Its a 1984 Volvo Diesel.
Question #2 Please answer this too…
If my battery died and I got a jump and it started but died after a few seconds its my alternator right? Is there anything else it could be?
Best answer:
Answer by ronscouch It could be the alternator, that’s the most expensive possibility, but it could be a broken wire leading from your alternator to the battery, or anywhere in the electrical system really. You should take it in before just buying an alternator and get it checked with the ohm meter or diagnostic machine. If you are broke, and know a high school student, they might do it for you at the auto shop at the school.
