How to Get alternator out of 2003 ford focus?

Question by Mr. Gerard: How to Get alternator out of 2003 ford focus?
I have a 2003 focus 2.0 L SOHC

My alternator died, I have managed to get it unmounted but there is not enough room to pull it out.
I have found alot of crap info online with very little detail

Somebody please link me to something that in great detail tells me how to get it out in a relatively easy fashion

You can totally do it yourself, it just takes some finesse and removal of the lower dogbone/Tranny mount for easiier rocking of the engine.

2002 Ford Focus 2.0. alternator remove and replace. Install. Not too bad of a job. Getting the belt off is likely the hardest part of this. They do have special tools with long handles and adapters to make it easier. 2001 2002 2003 ford focus alternator

It may be worth your while to purchase a shop manual for your car. They usually give you pretty detailed instructions on what needs to be removed to get at the parts you need to access.

See the link below. It will give you all the information you need. There are several different sources shown. Just choose whichever one you need to give you the detail you need to get the job done.

you need to remove the drive belt on it… and electrical connector.
Remove the coolant expansion tank and power steering reservoir. Use a socket wrench to disconnect the bracket for the engine wiring harness and the ground cable. Take off the purge valve for the evaporative emissions canister if your VIN begins with 3 or 5. If the VIN starts with P, you will need to remove the power steering pipe brackets and heat shield for the exhaust manifold. then just take your bolts out of it and take it off may have to turn wiggle a bit. i guesss some people just remove the engine mount raise engine up and forward but keep in mind they are heavy… i think id save that redemy to last if wat i said dont work cause thats a pain raising engine like that
